As I reflect back on the previous year I appreciate all that it held… but it was not enough. I want more!
The truth is this has been a great year. We conducted a high impact renovation on our home. I have been blessed with a second baby! Somehow (in spite of a difficult pregnancy and caring for a newborn) I still managed to keep growing my business. In fact, I couldn’t be happier.
I have no regrets.
I’m a happy woman…. For me though, today’s high never feels as great when it’s repeated tomorrow. I love new experiences, people, and challenges. So I’m constantly chasing "that amazing feeling".
Plan, and then go with the flow.
This makes it really hard for me to plan for tomorrow. There’s no doubt, I know that tomorrow I will be chasing a new high. Does that mean I’m setting myself up for disappointment if I expect every day to be better than the one before? I don’t buy that. I refuse.
So, I have some plans and I have some expectations. I also have an open mind, and curiosity about what the future holds.
Every day I’m hustling.
Some people call it the hustle. Some call it the chase. Call it whatever you want, but for satisfaction’s sake, take action.
A lot of people talk about new year resolutions. Your goal might be to post more YouTube videos, be more engaging on social media, speak at more conferences, or build more meaningful relationships. What’s really important is understanding that no one else can define what success means to you. Whatever gives you your high is yours alone. Whatever gives you satisfaction and reward is for you to define.
Call the shots… your way.
Play by your own rules, fight the good fight, hustle everyday. Aim to be your biggest, baddest, and best self. Or, you could say, Be You! Be hungry!
There is no time like the present.
In 2019, I plan to be an engaged and vibrance mother, a thoughtful and caring wife, a driven and insatiable entrepreneur, and the person you want to get to know. I’m looking forward to being me, being hungry, and sharing that with you.
What are you looking forward to in 2019?
Name it. Claim it. Live it.
